A chair for a chairlift system, which is embodied with a support and traction cable, that is guided in the terminal stations over deflector pulleys, one of which is driven, the chair comprising a supporting frame (11) that can be clamped to the support and traction cable by means of clamping devices, as a result of which it is movable between the stations, and being embodied with a seat (4) for at least one passenger. A free space is thereby provided next to this seat, or between two seats (4), and the supporting frame (11) is embodied with a load-bearing surface (5) for a wheelchair
