ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Device for the inflation of, more particularly, a container or a floating body of an item of lifesaving equipment. In order set a device (100) for the inflation of, more par- ticularly, a container of a floating body of an item of life- saving equipment with compressed gas from a compressed gas container (11) sealed with the aid of a diaphragm (14), whose gas content is released by opening the diaphragm (14) with an opening striker (19) disposed in the housing (10) and, on the opening striker (19), engages a lever drive (24) compri- sing a swiveling lever (25) possessing an intermediate mem- ber (36) upon which the hand lever (42) also acts, simply and with few operating steps reliably into operation, it is pro- posed that the swiveling lever (25) be two-armed and swive- lable about an axis of roatation (26) that is integral with the housing, that a first arm (27) of the swiveling lever (25) be supported upon a spring (30) with its free end (27a), that a second arm (28) of the swiveling lever (25) be suppor- ted on a housing stop (10a) and that the second arm (28) be supportable with its free end (28a) upon the automatic ele- ment (52), that the intermediate member (36) be two-armed and swivelable about an axis of rotation (26) that is integral with the housing, that a first arm (37) of the intermediate member (36) can be made to rest against a housing edge (35) and that, with the free end (37a) of the first arm (37) of the intermediate member (36), the opening striker (19) can be acted upon.
