This invention is a deformable intraocular lens injecting apparatus (10) including a spring biased plunger (16). A preferred embodiment of the lens injecting apparatus (10) includes a separate lens injecting device (12) having a lens cartridge receiver (24), and a separate one--piece lens cartridge (14) having a lens holding portion (14a) connected to a nozzle portion (14b). The lens cartridge (14) is preferably connected into the lens cartridge receiver (24) by a bayonet type connection.
