A device for dewatering material suspensions, comprising two cylindric rotary liquid permeable rolls (10) located in a vat (11) partially enclosing the rolls. The rolls (10) between themselves form a nip (12) so that a space (13) is formed between the rolls (10) and vat (11). In the bottom of the vat (11) inlets (15) for the material suspension to the space (13) are located. The inlets (15) are located in an openable central portion (18) of the bottom of the vat (11) and arranged on a transverse distribution pipe (16). The central portion (18) can be raised and lowered in relation to the vat (11). The transverse distribution pipe (16) is connected to a stationary central pipe (17) and axially movable in relation to the central pipe. In the central pipe (17) apertures (21) are provided for communication with the transverse distribution pipe (16) when the central portion (18) is in its upper closed position.
