The present invention is directed to an end stop (134) for a thermoplastic bag (120) having a reclos-able fastener (121) at the open top end of the bag. The reclosable fastener (121) comprises a pair of interlocking fastening strips (130, 131). The end stop (134) is config-ured to facilitate snap fit insertion onto the fastener strips (130, 131) and includes a top portion and a pair of de-pending side portions (172, 174) that straddle the fastener (121). The side portions (172, 174) further include in-wardly directed tab and shoulder structure (198, 202) that engage the reclosable fastener and prevent the end stop from being inadvertently pulled off in a transverse direc-tion in order to hold the end stop in place prior to being bonded to the bag. The bonding step is preferably accom-plished by ultrasonic welding. In the case of the line pro-duction of thermoplastic bags wherein a continuous web of plastic material is moved from one station to the next, the invention allows for the positioning of the end stop onto the reclosable fastener at a first station and the bond-ing of the end stop to the bag at a second station. The positioning and bonding steps may be performed simul-taneously.
L'invention concerne une butée d'extrémité (134) pour sac thermoplastique (120) doté d'une fermeture refermable (121) au niveau de l'extrémité supérieure ouverte dudit sac. Cette fermeture refermable (121) comprend deux bandes de fixation (130, 131) qui s'interverrouillent. La butée d'extrémité (134) est configurée de façon à faciliter un positionnement par encliquetage sur les bandes de fixation (130, 131), et comprend une partie supérieure et deux parties latérales (172, 174) dépendantes qui chevauchent la fermeture (121). Les parties latérales (172, 174) comprennent également une patte orientée vers l'intérieur, et une structure d'épaulement (198, 202) qui coopère avec la fermeture refermable et empêche que la butée d'extrémité soit retirée par inadvertance dans un sens transversal de façon à la maintenir en place avant sa liaison au sac. L'étape de liaison s'effectue de préférence par soudage par ultrasons. Dans le cas d'une production linéaire de sacs thermoplastiques, dans laquelle une bande continue de matériau de plastique se déplace d'une station à la suivante, cette invention permet de positionner la butée d'extrémité sur la fermeture refermable au niveau d'une première station, et de relier ladite butée d'extrémité au sac au niveau d'une seconde station. Les étapes de positionnement et de liaison peuvent s'effectuer simultanément.
