A patella clamp apparatus (10) includes a scissor-like instrument frame (25) having a pair of handles (12, 13) at one end portion. A patella holder (34) and drill collet have gripping surfaces (24, 35) for holding a patient's patella therebetween during preparation for implantation of a prosthesis. The collet (36) has arcuate slots (23) for accepting the vertical ridge of the patella. A reamer or cutting instrument (60) cuts a circular recess into the posterior face of the patella. The collet (36) is supported by the frame. The collet (36) accepts a depth stop (42) for referencing the posterior aspect of the patella. The collet (36) provides a bore that supports a reamer or drill (60) for forming the circular recess in the patella posterior surface.
Ce dispositif (10) de serrage d'une rotule comprend un cadre (25) d'instrument articulé possédant une paire de poignées (12, 13) au niveau d'une partie terminale. Un élément (34) de maintien de rotule et un mandrin porte-foret présentent des surfaces (24, 35) de serrage destinées à maintenir entre elles la rotule d'un patient lors de la préparation servant à l'implantation d'une prothèse. Le mandrin (36) possède des gorges arquées (23) destinées à recevoir la crête verticale de la rotule. Un alésoir ou un instrument de coupe (60) pratique un évidement circulaire dans la face postérieure de la rotule. Le mandrin (36) est supporté par le cadre, il est muni d'une butée (42) de profondeur destinée à la prise de références sur la partie postérieure de la rotule et il (36) présente un alésage qui porte un alésoir ou foret (60) servant à former l'évidement circulaire dans la surface postérieure de la rotule.
