Embedding a watermark in an image by changing selected DCT coefficients (301) in the blocks and macro blocks of coefficients which represent the image. The changes in the blocks that comprise each macro block are done in a coordinated manner so that the phase of the watermark signal is preserved across the block boundaries. The bit rate of the image signal is preserved by maintaining a count that represents the amount that the bit rate has been increased by changes in coefficients less the amount that the bit rate has been decreased by changes in the coefficients.
Ce procédé consiste à incorporer un filigrane dans une image grâce à la modification de coefficients DCT (301) sélectionnés dans les blocs et macroblocs de coefficients qui représentent cette image. Ces modifications intervenues dans les blocs comprenant chaque macrobloc sont effectuées de manière coordonnée de sorte que la phase du signal du filigrane est maintenue de l'autre côté des limites de ces blocs. Le débit binaire du signal d'image est maintenu grâce au maintien d'un comptage qui représente l'augmentation du débit binaire après modifications de coefficients moins la diminution du débit binaire après modifications de coefficients.
