An anti-theft device for vehicles, particularly vehicles with floor-mounted gear- shift levers, is disclosed. Generally, the device includes a gear-shift clasp; a steering hook; an adjustable rod member; and a ball joint. In use, the gear-shift clasp is locked around the gear-shift lever, below the gear-shift knob; the steering hook is hooked to the steering wheel or the steering column; and the length of the adjustable rod member is adjusted to ensure that the steering hook cannot be removed. The ball joint permits the gear-shift clasp and the steering hook to be tilted and rotated relative to each other so as to facilitate connecting them to the relevant vehicle components.
