A ventilation and moisture control system is disclosed. The ventilation system of the present invention uses natural conduction and convection methods, induced by temperature gradients, outside air, the sun and the wind, to increase the ventilation in a structure and to help prevent moisture and gases from accumulating in the structure. In one embodiment, the ventilation system creates an air flow passageway from the base of the perimeter side walls of the structure vertically through the side walls to a roof soffit and into an attic where the moisture-laden air is ultimately exhausted to outside the structure. Elevated temperatures in the attic and the soffit create a temperature gradient compared to the temperature inside the perimeter side walls which draws the moist air that accumulates in crawl spaces and/or that enters the side walls into the attic where it can be exhausted outside the structure.
La présente invention a pour objet un système de ventilation et de régulation de l'humidité. Le système de ventilation en question utilise les méthodes de conduction et de convection naturelles induites par des gradients de température, l'air extérieur, le soleil et le vent pour améliorer la ventilation à l'intérieur d'une structure et ainsi prévenir l'accumulation d'humidité et de gaz à l'intérieur d'un bâtiment. Dans une version de l'invention, le système de ventilation crée un passage permettant une circulation d'air depuis la base des murs périphériques de la structure, et verticalement à travers les murs du bâtiment jusqu'aux soffites de toit et à l'intérieur d'un grenier d'où l'air chargé d'humidité est évacué vers l'extérieur de la structure. Les températures élevées qui règnent à l'intérieur du grenier et au niveau des soffites créent un gradient thermique en comparaison de la température à l'intérieur des murs périphériques; ce gradient thermique est utilisé pour aspirer vers le grenier l'air humide qui tend à s'accumuler dans les galeries techniques et à l'intérieur des murs latéraux; l'air humide aspiré dans le grenier est ensuite évacué à l'extérieur de la structure.
