The invention relates to a ceramic hob comprising a glass-ceramic or glass hot plate (12) and an electrical heating element layer (22) and an insulating layer (14) between the hot plate (12) and the heating element layer (22). The insulating layer (14) consists of a plurality of individual layers (16, 18, 20) that are characterized by a porosity that decreases towards the heating element layer (22).
