A spacer (18) for maintaining a pressure tube (12) in spaced relation with a calandria tube of a nuclear reactor. The spacer comprising a split ring (20) adapted to be disposed about the outer surface of said pressure tube. The ring has a central annular body portion (21) with a raised bearing surface (22) thereon adapted to contact the inner surface of said calandria tube and prevent contact between said outer surface and said inner surface. An annular land (24, 26) projecting from each side of said central body portion is adapted to receive a collar (30, 32) thereon effective to create an interference fit between said ring and said pressure tube and thereby constrain axial movement of said spacer on said pressure tube. The spacer of the present invention maintains its location on the pressure tube and does not suffer the axial movement which characterizes some conventional spacers. The bearing surface can have a coating to reduce ware and heat transfer.
Ecarteur (18) permettant de maintenir un tube de force (12) à distance d'un tube de calandre dans un réacteur nucléaire. L'écarteur comprend un anneau brisé (20) conçu pour être placé à la surface externe dudit tube de force. L'anneau comprend une partie corps annulaire centrale (21) qui présente une surface d'appui surélevée (22), conçue pour entrer en contact avec la surface interne dudit tube de calandre de façon à empêcher le contact entre ladite surface externe et ladite surface interne. Un cordon annulaire (24, 26), se projetant depuis chaque côté de ladite partie corps centrale, est conçu pour recevoir un collier (30, 32) efficace pour créer un ajustement serré entre ledit anneau et ledit tube de force, de façon à limiter le déplacement axial dudit écarteur sur ledit tube de force. L'écarteur de la présente invention reste à sa place sur le tube de force et ne subit pas le déplacement axial qui caractérise certains écarteurs classiques. La surface d'appui peut comporter un revêtement afin de diminuer l'usure et le transfert thermique.
