Hapten-carrier conjugates capable of eliciting anti-hapten anti--bodies in vivo are described. Methods of preparing said conjugates and therapeutic compositions are also described. Where the hapten is a drug of abuse, a therapeutic composition containing the hapten-carrier con-jugate is particularly useful in the treatment of a drug addiction. The therapeutic composition is suitable for co-therapy with other conven-tional drugs. Passive immunization using antibodies raised against the hapten-carrier conjugates of the invention are also described.
L'invention concerne des conjugués haptène-porteur susceptibles de déclencher une réaction in vivo d'anticorps anti-haptène. Des procédés de préparation desdits conjugués et des compositions thérapeutiques sont également décrits. Lorsque l'haptène est la drogue utilisée, une composition thérapeutique contenant un conjugé haptène-porteur est particulièrement utile dans le traitement d'une toxicomanie. Cette composition thérapeutique peut être utilisée conjointement avec d'autres médicaments classiques. Une immunisation passive à l'aide des anticorps contre les conjugés haptène-porteur présentés dans cette invention est également décrite.
