The invention relates to the field of chemistry and more specifically, to the field of therapeutic chemistry. In particular, the invention relates to novel contraceptive compositions comprising a progesterone and an oestrogen, especially novel pharmaceutical compositions for contraceptive use which are characterised in that they contain an ester of nomegestrol and estradiol as their active agents in conjunction with or mixed with an inert, non-toxic, pharmaceutically compatible excipient or vehicle which is suitable for oral administration.

Elle a spécifiquement pour objet de nouvelles compositions pharmaceutiques à visée contraceptive caractérisées en ce qu'elles renferment à titre de principes actifs un ester de nomegestrol et de l'estradiol en association ou en mélange avec un excipient ou un véhicule inerte non toxique, pharmaceutiquement acceptable, convenant pour l'administration par voie orale.
