The present invention provides a novel formulation for the delivery of pharmaceutical compounds through oral administration, which allows for substantial bioavailability of the active ingredient of the formulation. These formulations comprise a pharmaceutical compound that is substantially insoluble in water. This compound is solubilized in a carrier which comprises a long chainfree fatty acid solubilizing agent, a pharmaceutically acceptable oil and a surface active agent. Through this formulation, the solubility of the pharmaceutical compound is increased and, thereby, systemic delivery is improved.
