A method is provided for providing pricing information as to unit selling price being charged by respective retailers to consumers comprising the steps of: (ii) providing a data receiving, processing and transmitting facility ("DRPTF"); (iii) receiving information identifying the participating retailers at the DRPTF; (iv) receiving and compiling data at the DRPTF from the retailers as to current unit selling price and generating current selling price data including current unit selling price and identifying information of the retailers; (v) transmitting the current selling price data from the DRPTF to either or both of the rival suppliers and the retailers.
