ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A golf tee made of pulpwood and a method for manufacturing the same. The golf tee has a composition essentially consisting of 75 to 94wt% pulp, 2 to 11wt% acrylic acid ester, and 2 to 11wt% vinyl acetate. The golf tee is obtained by extruding a dried mixture with the above composition and then molding it, to form the golf tee. The golf tee has a property that it become soft when it comes into contact with water, to be easily decayed, while exhibiting a strength similar or superior to a wood golf tee. Accordingly, it is possible to avoid an environmental contamination due to broken pieces of the golf tee. The golf tee itself also serves as a compost upon being decayed. A mass production of golf tees can be also achieved, thereby enabling the manufacture coat to be greatly reduced.
