- 14 - SHIPLOADER CHOKE FEEDER-TRIMMER ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A dual function loader attachment for loading particulate material allows for the slow discharge of product in a choke mode and the throwing of products in a trim mode. The choke feeder-trimmer has a canister or a spout with a top inlet and a bottom outlet offset to one side of the inlet. A curved back wall on the spout dir- ect flow from the spout towards the opening. Both choke and trim operation are controlled by a single gate mounted on the spout and carrying a choke plate that may variably close the discharge opening from the spout. The trim deflector is a curved plate that aligns tangently with the outlet edge of the curved back wall of the spout, so that particulate material flowing through the spout is carried through a gradual, and continuous curve to be thrown laterally from the spout.
