Column (1) for contacting upwardly flowing gas with downwardly flowing liquid, which column comprises a horizontal tray (3, 5) comprising a plate (6, 7) provided with a tubular gas/liquid contact device (8, 10), which tubular gas/liquid contact device (8, 10) comprises a contact section located (12) below the plate (6, 7), a separation section (13) above the contact section (12), and an outlet section (15) above the separation section (13) and located above the plate (6, 7), wherein the contact section (12) closed at its bottom, wherein the wall of the contact section (12) is provided with a plurality of tangential gas inlets (16), wherein a liquid delivery tube (19) opens into the lower end of the contact section (12), wherein the outlet section (15) comprises a gas permeable wall provided with coalescer means (25), and wherein the top of the outlet section is provided with a cover (27).

Un tube (19) d'alimentation en liquide s'ouvre dans l'extrémité inférieure de la zone de contact (12). La zone de sortie (15) comporte une paroi perméable aux gaz dotée d'un dispositif (25) de coalescence et la partie supérieure de la zone de sortie est dotée d'un couvercle (27).
