This invention is a postal rate metering device. It is a simple measuring device which determines size and weight of mail for Canadian, United States of America and International delivery. It consists of a rectangular plastic bar with measurement markings on both sides and series of holes along its length. Each hole has a postal weight category marked opposite. The bar has a slot at one end to measure thickness of the mail and a clip at the opposite end to hold the mail being weighed. A pen or pencil inserted in the appropriate hole will indicate the maximum weight if the clip end is above the horizontal level. For the small office or home, this inexpensive article eliminates the need to have sophisticated electronic or mechanical weighing or measuring equipment, or attending at a Post Office to determine the postage to be applied before mailing a letter.
