Process to prepare a pentenoic acid anhydride in the presence of a catalyst comprising palladium and an organic phosphine ligand, wherein the corresponding alkoxycarbonyl butene is reacted with carbon monoxide at a temperature between 50 and 130 ~C and that the phosphine is a monodentate phosphine or a bidentate phosphine.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de préparation d'un anhydride de l'acide penténoïque en présence d'un catalyseur comprenant du palladium et un ligand de phosphine organique, et consistant à faire réagir l'alkoxycarbonylbutène correspondant avec du CO à une température comprise entre 50 et 130 ·C, la phosphine étant une monodentate ou une bidentate phosphine.
