A system for displaying the position of a mobile terminal includes a small- zone communication system (50) such as a PHS system, and a center station (1) connected to an exchange (2) constituting the PHS system. When the center station (1) dials the telephone number of a mobile station (7) to be located, the calling signal is transmitted to the base station (6) nearest to the station (7) through exchanges (2 and 4) and trunk lines (3 and 5) constituting a PHS system (50). Since the mobile station (7) can know the identification number of the nearest base station (6), the position of the base station (6) is specified by referring to the data base of the PHS system (50) by using the data base of the base station (6) provided at a central control station (51). The specified position is displayed on a CRT screen at the center station (1). Consequently, a highly accurate device for locating a mobile terminal is provided.
