Case 3805 DRIVE TOOL WITH SPRING-BIASED TORQUE A B S T R A C T A tool having a torque-limiting recess of variable axial dimension biased to its longest position by a rigid spring. Under normal drive conditions, the rigid spring will maintain the torque-limiting recess at its maximum length position. In the event the operator wishes to apply additional torque to the fastener head, he merely leans on the tool applying an extraor- dinary axial load which collapses the rigid spring and enables the operator to reengage the tool with the fastener head.
