The present invention relates to a process for separating polyhydroxyalkanoate from a biomass, the process comprising extracting the polyhydroxyalkanoate with at least one PHA solvent selected from the group consisting of acetone, acetonitrile, benzene, butyl acetate, butyl propionate, .beta.-butyrolactone, .gamma.-butyrolactone, diethyl carbonate, diethylformamide, dimethyl carbonate, dimethyl succinate, dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethylformamide, ethyl acetate, ethylene glycol diacetate, methyl acetate, methyl ethyl ketone, 1,4- dioxane, tetrahydrofuran, toluene, xylene, and mixtures thereof.
Procédé permettant de séparer du polyhydroxyalcanoate d'une biomasse, qui consiste à extraire le polyhydroxyalcanoate (PHA) avec au moins un solvant de PHA choisi dans le groupe constitué d'acétone, d'acétonitrile, de benzène, d'acétate de butyle, de propionate de butyle, de .beta.-butyrolactone, de .gamma.-butyrolactone, de diéthylcarbonate, de diéthylformamide, de diméthylcarbonate, de déméthylsuccinate, de diméthylsulfoxyde, de diméthylformamide, d'acétate d'éthyle, de diacétate d'éthylène glycol, d'acétate de méthyle, de méthyléthylcétone, de 1,4-dioxane, de tétrahydrofuranne, de toluène, de xylène et de mélanges desdites substances.
