A driving system and method to effect propagation of a magnetic domain wall through a ferromagnetic conduit are described, wherein oscillating electrical current is passed through the conduit from an oscillating current supply source via at least two electrical contacts adapted to make electrical connection with at least two spaced points on the conduit. A ferromagnetic conduit is described comprising an elongate ferromagnetic element formed as a continuous track of magnetic material capable of sustaining and propagating a domain wall, and such a driving system in serial array, preferably being further adapted to serve as a magnetic logic element by the provision of nodes and/or directional changes as a result of which logical functions may be processed.
La présente invention a trait à un système et un procédé de commande pour effectuer une propagation d'une paroi de domaine magnétique à travers un conduit ferromagnétique, dans lequel un courant électrique oscillatoire est circulé à travers le conduit depuis une source de courant oscillatoire via au moins deux contacts électriques adaptés à établir une liaison électrique avec au moins deux points espacés sur le conduit. L'invention a également trait à un conduit ferromagnétique comportant un élément ferromagnétique de forme allongée constitué sous la forme d'une piste continue de matériau magnétique apte au support et à la propagation de la paroi de domaine, ainsi qu'un tel système de commande dans un réseau en série, de préférence adapté également à agir comme élément logique magnétique par l'inclusion de noeuds et/ou de modifications de directions grâce à quoi des fonctions logiques peuvent être traitées.
