A method of connecting a cylindrical body having a flange at an end to be connected with a bucklingly deformable synthetic resin member having a lagging tube to be fitted onto the flange. The lagging tube of the synthetic resin member is fitted onto the flange of the cylindrical body, the tip of the lagging tube is bucklingly deformed toward the cylindrical body to the extent that stress rupture does not occur, and the flange is locked by the bucklingly deformed tip of the lagging tube. The synthetic resin member has a contact portion to be in contact with the flange of the cylindrical body at the base of the lagging tube, the tip of the lagging tube is bucklingly deformed toward the cylindrical body with the flange in contact with the contact portion, and the flange is held and locked between the tip of the lagging tube and the contact portion. The buckling deformation is carried out by pressing a rotatably pivoted roller, while rotating, against the tip of the lagging tube continuously with a predetermined pressing force for a given time period. The synthetic resin member is made of a synthetic resin whose bucklingly deformed portion becomes whitened.
Ce procédé de raccord au moyen d'un élément en résine synthétique, capable de se déformer par flambage et comprenant un corps cylindrique comportant une bride au niveau de sa partie d'extrémité à raccorder, ainsi qu'une partie tube à isolation thermique ajusté sur la bride, comprend les étapes suivantes consistant: à ajuster la partie tube à isolation thermique de l'élément en résine synthétique sur la bride du corps cylindrique, à déformer par flambage le bout de la partie du tube sur le côté du corps cylindrique, selon une grandeur de déformation ne provoquant pas de rupture par contrainte, puis à bloquer la bride au moyen du bout de la partie du tube déformé par flambage. L'élément en résine synthétique étant bloqué du fait de la mise en contact de la partie de base du tube avec la bride du corps cylindrique, le procédé consiste ensuite à déformer par flambage le bout du tube sur le côté du corps cylindrique, la bride entrant en contact avec la partie de contact, et à maintenir la bride entre le bout du tube et la partie de contact, la déformation par flambage s'effectuant par pression, sur le bout du tube, d'un galet pivotant - pendant le pivotement de celui-ci -, à l'aide d'une force de pression déterminée et continue pendant une durée déterminée. L'élément de résine synthétique étant réalisé dans une résine synthétique, la portion déformée par flambage blanchit sous l'effet du flambage.
