A method of treating a hydrocarbon formation, comprising: providing water (162) to one or more of the wellbores (104) positioned in a hydrocarbon containing formation, (102) providing a fuel stream (152) and an oxidant stream (156) to one or more heaters (150) positioned in one or more of the wellbores, wherein the fuel stream has a hydrogen sulfide content of at least 5% hydrogen hydrogen sulfide by volume as determined by ASTM Method D2420; mixing at least a portion of the fuel stream and at least a portion of the oxidant stream to form a fuel /oxidant mixture; and combusting at least a portion of the fuel/oxidant mixture in at least one of the heaters to heat at least a portion of the water
La présente invention concerne des procédés permettant de générer une chaleur souterraine afin de traiter une formation contenant des hydrocarbures. Les procédés consistent à introduire de la vapeur dans au moins une portion d'une formation contenant des hydrocarbures depuis plusieurs emplacements dans un puits de forage. La vapeur est plus chaude qu'une température de la portion. La vapeur est chauffée dans le puits de forage par combustion d'un écoulement contenant du sulfure d'hydrogène dans le puits de forage. La chaleur émanant de la combustion est déplacée vers la vapeur. La vapeur amenée dans la portion à un premier emplacement dans le puits de forage est plus chaude que la vapeur amenée à un second emplacement dans le puits de forage le long de la longueur du puits de forage, le premier emplacement étant plus éloigné d'une surface de la formation que le second emplacement le long de la longueur du puits de forage.
