The present invention provides an elastomeric composition processable in a curable, filled rubber formulation. The composition comprises a halogenated interpolymer of a C4 to C7 isoolefin and from 3 to 20 weight percent alkylstyrene and comprising from 0.2 to 2 mole percent haloalkylstyrene, a Mooney viscosity less than 37, a number average molecular weight less than 270,000, a weight average molecular weight less than 470,000, a z-average molecular weight less than 700,000, and a branching index (g') from 0.4 to 1.1. Also disclosed are a method of making a cured, filled rubber article, comprising compounding the elastomeric composition with filler and curative, processing the compounded composition to form a shape of the article, and curing the composition to obtain the article in the formed shape, as well as a tire comprising an innerliner made by the method.
L'invention concerne une composition élastomère traitable dans une formulation de caoutchouc garnie durcissable. Ladite composition comprend un interpolymère halogéné d'isooléfine C4 à C7 et entre 3 et 20 % en poids d'alkylstyrène, et comprenant entre 0,2 et 2 mole % de haloalkylstyrène, ayant une consistance mooney inférieure à 37, un poids moléculaire moyen en nombre inférieur à 270.000, un poids moléculaire moyen en poids inférieur à 470.000, un poids moléculaire-z moyen inférieur à 700.000, et un indice de branchement (g') compris entre 0,4 et 1,1. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication d'un article en caoutchouc garni durci, qui consiste à mélanger la composition élastomère avec un agent de remplissage et de vulcanisation, à traiter la composition mélangée de façon à créer une forme de l'article, et à durcir la composition pour obtenir l'article selon la forme créée, ainsi qu'un pneu comprenant une gomme intérieure fabriquée suivant ce procédé.
