The invention concerns a pigment filler or a mineral containing natural calcium carbonate, treated with one or several H¿3?O?+¿ ion donors and gaseous CO¿2?, for reducing constant surface paper weight, without loss of physical properties when it is used as mass or coating pigment for said paper. In particular, the invention concerns a pigment, filler or mineral containing a natural carbonate calcium, or dolomite, or talcum-calcium carbonate, kaolin-calcium carbonate mixtures alone or combined with natural and/or synthetic fibres or the like, treated with one or several H¿3?O?+¿ ion donors ranging from moderately strong to strong in the presence of CO¿2? gas. The invention is particularly applicable to the paper industry for obtaining good sheeting properties, that is a reduction in weight for a specific thickness.
L'invention concerne un pigment, une charge ou un minéral contenant un carbonate de calcium naturel, traité avec un ou plusieurs donneurs d'ions H3O+ et du CO2 gazeux, permettant la réduction du poids du papier à surface constante, sans perte des propriétés physiques lorsqu'il est utilisé comme pigment de masse ou de couchage pour ledit papier. En particulier, l'invention concerne un pigment, une charge ou un minéral contenant un carbonate de calcium naturel, ou la dolomie, ou des mélanges talc-carbonate de calcium, kaolin-carbonate de calcium seul ou en combinaison avec des fibres naturelles et/ou synthétiques et analogues, traités par un ou plusieurs donneurs d'ions H3O+ moyennement forts à forts en présence de gaz CO2. Applications notamment papetières, avec obtention en particulier de bonnes propriétés de la feuille, c'est-à-dire une réduction de son poids pour une épaisseur donnée.
