The invention provides compounds of formula I, (see fig. I) wherein R1 and R2 independently represent C1 or C1-6 alkyl; R3 represents XCO2R4, XCONHSO2R5, YNHSO2R5 or XR5; R4 represents H or C1-6 alkyl (optionally substituted by aryl or heterocyclyl); R5 represents CF3, heterocyclyl or C1-6 alkyl (optionally substituted by aryl orheterocyclyl); R6 represents an acidic heterocycle, X represents a C1-6 alkyl diradical (optionally substituted by aryl or heterocyclyl); and Y represents a C2-6 alkyl diradical (optionally substituted by aryl or heterocyclyl); provided that when R1 and R2 each represent Cl, then R3 does not represent CH2CO2H, CH2CO2CH3, CH2CH2NHSO2CF3 or 5-tetrazolylmethyl; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compounds are indicated as anxiolytics, anticonvulsants, analgesics and neuroprotectives.
