The present invention relates to a novel crustacean androgenic gland hormone. More specifically, the invention relates to an androgenic gland hormone derived from Penaeus monodon. The invention relates further to the use of said hormone to influence the sex ration in prawn and shrimp cultures, and to set up monosex cultures. It also related to the use of the hormone and its gene or fragments thereof in sex determination.
La présente invention concerne une nouvelle hormone de glande androgène de crustacés. De manière plus spécifique, linvention concerne une hormone de glande androgène dérivée de Penaeus monodon. Linvention concerne en outre lutilisation de ladite hormone pour influencer la proportion des sexes dans les élevages de crevettes, et pour établir des cultures monosexe. La présente invention concerne également lutilisation de lhormone et de son gène ou de fragments de ceux-ci pour déterminer le sexe.
