Methods of providing diffusing risers on a fresnel lens die having a plurality of optical facets, wherein adjacent optical facets are separated by a riser, the method including the steps of depositing a diffusing layer on the plurality of optical facets and the risers, and selectively removing the diffusing layer from the plurality of optical facets, wherein the diffusing layer remains substantially intact on the risers. The diffusing layer can be deposited in an electrolyte bath substantially free of grain refiners.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de création de plans verticaux de diffusion sur un moule de lentille de Fresnel présentant une série de facettes optiques et dont deux facettes contiguës sont séparées par des plans verticaux. Ledit procédé consiste à déposer une couche de diffusion sur l'ensemble des facettes optiques et des plans verticaux puis à éliminer sélectivement la couche de diffusion des facettes optiques, ce qui laisse intactes la couche de diffusion déposée sur les facettes optiques. La couche de diffusion peut être déposée dans un bain électrolytique sensiblement exempt de produits d'affinage du grain.
