Methods are provided for formulating models for predicting whether subjects will respond to a particular drug or treatment regimen. Biochemical profiles are obtained (by measuring a variety or biochemical parameters) for a test group before and after treatment with the drug or regimen. These values are used to formulate a specific predictive method for the particular drug or treatment regimen. The predictive measurement is then used with biochemical parameters obtained from a subject to predict whether that subject will respond to the particular drug or treatment regimen. The treatment is preferably insulin-like growth factor (IFG-I), in combination with IGFBP-3, and the biochemical parameters are thyroid stimulating hormone and tetraiodothyroine levels.

L'invention concerne des procédés permettant de formuler des modèles en vue de prévoir quels sujets vont produire une réponse à un médicament ou à un régime de traitement particulier. Des profils biochimiques sont établis (par mesure de divers paramètres biochimiques) pour un groupe d'essai avant et après traitement des sujets par le médicament ou régime. Ces valeurs sont utilisées pour formuler un procédé de prévision spécifique au médicament ou au régime de traitement particulier. Les mesures prédictives sont ensuite utilisées avec les paramètres biochimiques du sujet afin de prévoir si celui-ci produira une réponse au médicament ou au régime de traitement particulier. Le traitement est de préférence le facteur de croissance de type I proche de l'insuline (IGF-1), utilisé en combinaison avec IGFBP-3, et les paramètres biochimiques sont les taux de thyréostimuline et de tétraiodothyronine.
