A flotation supplement to a personal flotation device. The flotation supplement has an inflatable buoyancy chamber mountable upon a buoyant life vest. An air storage container is coupled to the inflatable buoyancy chamber to inflate the buoyancy chamber. The buoyancy chamber is laterally offset upon the life vest to provide asymmetric supplemental buoyancy. When not in use, the inflatable buoyancy chamber is stored in its deflated position and releasably restrained to the life vest.

L'invention concerne un supplément de flottaison pour un dispositif de flottaison personnel. Le supplément de flottaison comporte une chambre de flottaison gonflable à monter sur un gilet de sauvetage. Un réservoir d'air est jumelé à la chambre de flottaison gonflable pour gonfler la chambre en question. La chambre de flottaison est déportée latéralement sur le gilet de sauvetage afin de fournir de la flottabilité supplémentaire asymétrique. Lorsqu'elle n'est pas utilisée, la chambre de flottaison demeure dégonflée et retenue de façon amovible au gilet de sauvetage.
