Process for producing very pure paraxylene from a charge containing a mixture of aromatic hydrocarbons having from 7 to 9 carbon atoms, wherein is circulated at least a portion of the charge in a zone adapted to enrich a first fraction with paraxylene and at lest a portion of said first fraction is purified by at least one temperature crystallization in at least one crystallization zone, the process being characterized in that the first paraxylene-enriched fraction is crystallized in a crystallization zone comprising at least two high temperature crystallization stages (50, 70), and preferably between + 10 and - 25 DEG C. The paraxylene enriching zone may be a very low temperature crystallization, a selective adsorption or a toluen dismutation zone.

Procédé de production de paraxylène de très haute pureté à partir d'une charge contenant un mélange d'hydrocarbures aromatiques de 7 à 9 atomes de carbone dans lequel on fait circuler une partie au moins de la charge dans une zone adaptée à enrichir une première fraction en paraxylène et on purifie au moins une partie de ladite première fraction par au moins une cristallisation à haute température dans au moins une zone de cristallisation, le procédé étant caractérisé en ce que l'on cristallise ladite première fraction enrichie en paraxylène dans une zone de cristallisation comprenant au moins deux étages (50, 70) de cristallisation à haute température, et avantageusement entre + 10 et - 25 °C. La zone d'enrichissement en paraxylène peut être une cristallisation à très basse température, une adsorption sélective ou une zone de dismutation du toluène.
