ABSTRACT An improved process for manufacturing color-coded indetifier microparticles is disclosed. Accord- ing to the process a laminate comprising colored layer in a predetermined color sequence to constitute a code is randomly broken up into irregularly shaped microparticles wherein the outer surfaces of the colored layers at the extremities of the code are parallel to each other and the largest dimension of the microparticles is greater than he distance between the parallel surfaces.
