The present invention relates to the use of pyridocarbazole-type compounds corresponding to the general formula (I) below: (I) as a medicament, and more particularly to the application thereof in anticancer chemotherapy. Another subject of the present invention is specific compounds of formula (I), and also pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds of for-mula (I) of the invention. Finally, the present invention relates to the use of the compounds of formula (I) for the preparation of a medicament intended for preventing and/or treating neurodegenerative-type pathologies, such as Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia, for the preparation of a medicament intended for preventing and/or treating parasitoses, such as malaria, or for the preparation of a medicament intended for preventing and/or treating glaucomas.
