Disclosed is an improved sustained release drug delivers device and method of producing such device. The device comprises a drug core in an impermeable cup or impermeable coating layer that is adhered to an uncured suture tab and covered with a permeable polmer coating layer that is similar to the makeup of the suture tab. The permeable polmer coating layer that covers the device, covering the impermeable coating layer and at least a portion of the drug core, is cured (after drying) along witht he uncured suture tab. The "cocuring" or one step curing process forms a very strong bond between the outer coating layer to the suture tab preventing leaks.

L'invention se rapporte à un dispositif amélioré d'administration de médicaments à libération modifiée et à son procédé de fabrication. Ledit dispositif comprend un noyau de médicament contenu dans une capsule imperméable ou une couche d'enrobage imperméable qui adhère à une languette de suture non durcie et qui est recouverte d'une couche d'enrobage polymère perméable semblable à celle de la languette de suture. La couche d'enrobage polymère perméable recouvrant le dispositif, recouvrant la couche d'enrobage imperméable et au moins une partie du noyau de médicament, est durcie (après séchage) à l'instar de la languette de suture non durcie. L'opération de "co-durcissement" ou de durcissement en une étape permet de former une adhérence très forte entre la couche d'enrobage externe et la languette de suture, évitant ainsi les fuites.
