Abstract A fishing line loading device comprises a frame and a movable axle pin by which a fishing line supply spool may be mounted. A tension and guide plate is attached to the frame and, being spring-loaded, it automatically applies the proper tension and eliminates horizontal movement of any size of supply spool. The frame may be mounted on a fishing rod near the reel, thereby holding the supply spool centered on the rod for line transfer.
