This rotary press to lay patterns of a material on a strip material (14) comprises a working cylinder (2) bearing embossing plates (16) of the patterns of the aforesaid material to be laid and an anvil cylinder (4), means (2b, 10a, LM) to drive the working cylinder (2) in a rotating movement, heating means for this working cylinder (2), means (2a, 10) to exert a defined prestress between the aforesaid working cylinder (2) and the aforesaid anvil cylinder (4) and ball-bearings means (9) between the aforesaid anvil cylinder (4) and its pivoting shaft (8). It also comprises means (10, 11, 17, 18) to adjust space (13) between the aforesaid working cylinder (2) and the aforesaid anvil-cylinder (4); independent of the aforesaid means (2a, 10) to exert the aforesaid defined prestress.
