The invention concerns a thermoplastic composition for shaped light-diffusing articles based on transparent thermoplastic material consisting of (meth)acrylic (co)polymer and light diffusing particles comprising poly(tetrafluoroethylene)-PTFE- particles or a mixture of PTFE particles and particles of a mineral and/or organic substance, said light-diffusing particles having an average size of 0.5 mu m to 200 mu m and a refractive index different from that of the transparent thermoplastic material by at least +/- 0.05 and used in an amount, relative to the total composition, from 5 ppm to 2000 ppm by weight. The invention is useful for light display device and flat-panel light display screens comprising a faceplate obtained from said composition.
La composition thermoplastique selon l'invention pour des articles façonnés diffusant la lumière à base de matière thermoplastique transparente formée de (co)polymère(méth)acrylique et de particules diffusant la lumière comprend des particules de poly(tétrafluoroéthylène) - PTFE - ou un mélange de particules de PTFE et de particules de substance minérale et/ou organique, ces particules diffusant la lumière ayant une dimension moyenne de 0,5 µm à 200 µm et un indice de réfraction différent de celui de la matière thermoplastique transparente d'au moins ~ 0,05 et étant utilisées en quantité, par rapport à la composition totale, de 5 ppm à 2000 ppm en poids. Application aux dispositifs d'affichage lumineux et aux écrans lumineux plats comprenant une plaque obtenue à partir de la composition.
