The invention relates to capsule opening arrangement for a powder inhaler device. The arrangement has a first part (4) and second part (5) which are relatively movable with respect to one another. The first part has a capsule supporting means (9) comprising an aperture (10) for supporting at least one severable capsule (11). The second part (5) contains a capsule severing means (14) fixedly located therein so as to pass across the supporting aperture (14) during relative movement of said parts (4, 5). The opening arrangement provides particular advantages in that the capsule (11), after severing, has a large open area from which powder can be extracted without any part of the capsule interfering with the powder flow.

L'invention concerne un système pour ouvrir une capsule dans un inhalateur de poudre. Le système présente une première (4) et une seconde (5) partie qui sont mobiles l'une par rapport à l'autre. La première partie comporte un support (9) pour gélules pourvu d'une ouverture (10), afin de supporter au moins une gélule (11) susceptible d'être sectionnée. La seconde partie (5) comporte un moyen fixe (14) pour sectionner la capsule qui passe au droit de l'ouverture (10) de support pendant le mouvement relatif desdites parties (4, 5). Le système d'ouverture est particulièrement avantageux en ce que la gélule (11), lorsqu'elle est sectionnée, présente une surface large à partir de laquelle la poudre peut être évacuée sans qu'aucune partie de la gélule ne gêne l'écoulement de la poudre.
