Methods for identifying potential therapeutic agents involve determining the affinity and/or efficacy of a test compound for an adensoine receptor at a relatively high pH and at a relatively low pH. Compounds with greater affinity and/or efficacy at the low pH are identified as potential therapeutic agents, in particular for the treatment of pain or inflammation.

Ces techniques, permettant d'identifier d'éventuels agents thérapeutiques, consistent à déterminer les affinités et/ou l'efficacité d'un composé test pour un récepteur d'adénosine et ce, à un pH relativement élevé et un pH relativement faible. Les composés présentant des affinités plus grandes et/ou ayant une efficacité plus importante à un pH faible sont recensés comme étant d'éventuels agents thérapeutiques, notamment pour le traitement de douleurs ou d'une inflammation.
