Abstract The use of compositions for combating tumour diseases The present invention relates to the use of inhibitors of HIV aspartate proteases, such as HIV-1- or HIV-2-protease, and their salts and to prodrugs for inhibiting the growth of tumours, especially those tumours which do not respond to the inhibition of HIV aspartate proteases themselves, and in the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions intended for use in the prophylaxis and especially the treatment of tumour diseases, and to methods and pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of tumours with those compounds.
