A cutting insert pocket retaining a cutting insert, is provided with two insert sidewalls (20, 58) and a base (24) transverse thereto. A first of the two insert support sidewalls (20) being fixed relative to the base (24) and having two coplanar spaced apart insert location surfaces (30, 32), a second of the two insert support sidewalls (58) being rotatable about an axis transverse to the base (24) and having two coplanar spaced apart insert location surfaces (60, 62). This arrangement enables four-point location of the cutting insert in the cutting insert pocket, instead of the usual prior art three-point location.

L'invention concerne un logement pour plaquette amovible d'outil de coupe destiné à recevoir une plaquette amovible, muni de deux parois de plaquette (20, 58) et une base (24) transversale par rapport aux parois. Une première des deux parois de supports de plaquette (20) fixée à la base (24) et présentant deux surfaces de positionnement de plaquette espacées et coplanaires (30, 32), une seconde des deux parois de support de plaquette (58) tournant autour d'un axe transversal à la base (24) et présentant deux surfaces de positionnement de plaquette espacées et coplanaires (60, 62). Cet arrangement permet de positionner la plaquette en quatre endroit dans le logement d'outil de coupe, au lieu de trois comme c'était le cas dans l'art antérieur.
