In accordance with a particular embodiment of the present invention, a method for maintaining telephony Internet services includesproviding a first pointer, the first pointer directing a terminalunit to access a first Internet server. A backup pointer is provided, the backup pointer directing the terminal unit to access oneor more corresponding backup Internet servers. The first Internetserver is accessed based on the first pointer. Upon system failure, the backup Internet server is accessed based on the backup pointer.

Un pointeur de sauvegarde oriente ladite unité terminale pour accéder à un ou plusieurs serveur(s) Internet de sauvegarde correspondant(s). L'accès au premier serveur Internet est assuré grâce au premier pointeur. En cas de défaillance du système, le pointeur de sauvegarde entre en jeu pour assurer l'accès au serveur Internet de sauvegarde.
