A method of identifying a gene structure which involves the step of presuming translational domains forming a transcriptional unit and then identifying the start codon; a method of identifying a gene structure which involves the step of selecting a plural number of codon pairs showing a large difference in appearance frequency from a codon having a reverse-complementary sequence in the base sequences of a plural number of translational domains having been identified and judging a translational domain having many codons with a higher appearance frequency in respective pairs as the true translational domain; a method of identifying a gene structure with a base sequence showing a GC content exceeding 50% which involves the step of judging a codon in a translational domain wherein the GC contents of the first and third letters are less than a definite level as false; programs for executing these methods; recording media carrying these programs and being readable with a computer; and a computed gene structure identification system using these programs.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'identification d'une structure de gène consistant à supposer que des domaines de traduction forment une unité de transcription, puis à identifier le codon d'initiation. Elle concerne aussi un procédé d'identification d'une structure de gène consistant à sélectionner plusieurs paires de codons, montrant une grande différence en fréquence d'apparition, à partir d'un codon de séquence complémentaire inverse, dans les séquences de base de plusieurs domaines de traduction identifiés et à juger qu'un domaine de traduction possédant de nombreux codons, de fréquence d'apparition plus élevée dans des paires respectives, représente le vrai domaine de traduction. Elle concerne encore un procédé d'identification d'une structure de gène, dont la séquence de base montre une teneur en GC dépassant 50 %, consistant à juger qu'un codon, dans un domaine de traduction dans lequel les teneurs en GC des première et troisième lettres sont inférieures à une teneur définie, est un faux codon. L'invention concerne enfin des programmes d'exécution de ces procédés, des supports d'enregistrement, contenant ces programmes, lisibles par un ordinateur, et un système d'identification de structure de gène utilisant ces programmes.
