The invention is a spin-on type filter with a reclaimed permanent filter casing and permanent filtering media that are washable and reusable. There are three distinct progressive filtering systems that function simultaneously, but separately within one filter housing, one is the full flow filtering at 10 micron capability while the other is in its bypass fine filtering mode at 1 to 3 micron filtering capability. In addition, a safety full flow filter can be activated to filter the return oil while the main full flow medium is fouled. Each system can be implemented with multiple media. The main body of the filter, which comprises the filter head and the media, can be separated easily for servicing from its casing which is designed to attach to the engine. Fine stainless steel cloths are utilized as filtering media which can last the life of an engine. Furthermore, magnets are utilized to trap suspending metal filings in oil flow. The design of the main filter body as such is that any used conventional filter canister can be simply adapted to it or a new filter canister casing can be utilized whichever is the advantage at the time of installation and of in production.

Ce filtre intègre trois systèmes différents de filtrage progressifs qui fonctionnent simultanément, mais de manière séparée à l'intérieur d'un logement de filtre, l'un de ces systèmes étant un filtrage à passage intégral doté d'une capacité de 10 microns tandis que l'autre fonctionne dans son mode de filtration fine de dérivation à une capacité de filtration comprise entre 1 et 3 microns. Il est en outre possible d'activer un filtre de sécurité à passage intégral pour filtrer l'huile de renvoi lorsque le milieu filtrant du filtre à passage intégral est encrassé. Chaque système peut être mis en oeuvre à partir de divers milieux filtrants. Il est possible, aux fins d'entretien, de retirer aisément le corps principal du filtre, constitué de la tête de filtre et du milieu filtrant, de son contenant qui est conçu pour être fixé au moteur. On utilise en tant que milieux filtrants de fines garnitures en acier inoxydable qui peuvent avoir la même durée de vie que le moteur. On utilise, en outre, des aimants pour piéger des limailles en suspension dans le flux d'huile. Une telle conception du corps de filtre principal rend possible et simple l'adaptation audit filtre d'une nouvelle cartouche de filtre ou d'une cartouche usagée de filtre traditionnel suivant que l'on se trouve en phase d'installation ou d'exploitation.
