A full-length cDNA encoding a rat G protein conjugate type receptor protein which is isolated by screening cDNA libraries originating in rat thalamus and hypothalamus; and human cDNA corresponding to the above rat cDNA. Use of these G protein conjugate type receptor proteins makes it possible to screen ligands and to screen compounds which are candidates for drugs capable of regulating signal transduction from receptors.

L'invention concerne un ADNc pleine longueur codant une protéine réceptrice du type conjugué de protéine G du rat, qui est isolée par criblage des bibliothèques d'ADNc trouvant leur origine dans le thalamus et l'hypothalamus du rat, ainsi qu'un ADNc humain correspondant à l'ADNc du rat susmentionné. L'utilisation des protéines réceptrices selon l'invention permet le criblage de ligands et le criblage de composés pouvant être utilisés pour constituer des médicaments pouvant réguler la transduction de signaux provenant de récepteurs.
