A flashlight includes a shell, a battery device held in the shell, a light emitting member, and a tail cap for the shell; the battery device includes a casing, and a battery set in the casing; the battery set include several single-part batteries; the casing comprises two covering parts joined together; positive and negative poles of the battery set are exposed through front and rear ends of the casing respectively, and they are electrically connected with a socket positioned in the casing; a circuit board is secured in the tail cap, and electrically connected with the battery device; the circuit board has a built-in microcomputer controller to make the light emitting member change in brightness and change between several different modes of emitting light; the battery set can be charged through a charger connected to the socket.
