ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An anti-theft device for a vehicle propelled by an internal combustion engine consisting of a body adapted to be interposed in a fuel line supplying fuel to the internal combustion engine. The body has a primary fuel flow passage, and a solenoid valve having a plunger movable between a retracted position and an extended position upon receiving a signal from a hidden or coded activator. The plunger stops the flow of fuel through the primary fuel flow passage in the extended position thereby starving the combustion engine of fuel. The improvement consists of a secondary fuel passage through the body which bypasses the solenoid valve. The flow of fuel through the secondary fuel passage enables the combustion engine to operate at an idle when the plunger of the solenoid valve in an extended position.
